Parkhead East Church was founded in 1872 by the Elders Association of the United Presbyterian Church.The first meeting of worship was held in a house on Westmuir st.but very soon the small congregationfound accommodation in a woodenhut in Grey st (Darvaig st)The church was then built on 110 Westmuir st at Sorby st in 1877. The Union of Churches then brought the Parkhead U.P Church into the United Free Church of Scotland in 1900 and again in 1929 brought the Parkhead U.F Church into the Church of Scotland as parkhead East Church.
