Tales fae the East – A podcast project based in Glasgow’s East end (tales-fae-the-east.com)
Tales fae the East is a podcast, photography and outreach project about Glasgow’s East End. While the “East” represents a large part of the city,
my mother and her siblings all worked in Beardmores during 2nd world war. My mother was boring the barrels of long barrelled guns when despite her protective hat, a lock of her hair caught in the machinery. She was pulled up and over it and luckily lost her hair and not her life. 40 years later the hair that had grown back after the accident was still black while the rest was white. An odd result of the accident.
